Booka Shade – Tonight at Mansion

Booka show at Mansion

Jeez, two weekends in a row there have been some great electronic shows happening. I think there is a serious movement going on here in Beantown (or should I say, Basstown).

This time around it’s a group called Taste Boston that’s putting the show on tonight at the downtown club, Mansion (formerly the Big Easy or rather Big Sleazy). Amanda and I went there once for the Going.com party and it’s actually a pretty cool place. Just that the usual clientele are not my typical crew.

Tonight, however, is a special night. The musical duo / producers, Booka Shade (a.k.a. Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier) are coming to our neck of the woods after skipping us during their last visit back in March and April. They’ve been bouncing around to all sorts of festivals this summer as they’re in high demand. In fact, they may be the most in-demand live acts around right now. The fact that this group got them to play The Mansion is quite impressive. Although, this group is claiming that this is the “second ever North American appearance of German superstar duo Booka Shade”. And I’m quite sure that not only did they tour throughout the country earlier this year, but that they’ve been to our fair land in the past more than once. But hey, I’m not one for arguing the details. Lets just get down and boogie.
