About Hip2besquare

Started in 2005 by Luke Owen. Some may know him better as Kippy depending on your whereabouts when meeting. As a big Phish fan, Luke toured throughout the country. Around 2000 Luke started to branch out. First it was Wilco then Yo La Tengo and close behind was Stephen Malkmus (yes, his solo material came before Pavement for Luke). Eventually Hot Chip took over his life for a little while. But now that Phish is clearly back and is playing better than ever thee will be more of a focus on hip2besquare around Phish. However, having been inspired by the all the music that's outside of the Phish community, we'll continue to share our thoughts on the new bands that pop up throughout this alternative landscape.
