Don’t need many words to describe how awesome this is. RIP Etta.

Phish Hampton 97 – Halley’s Comet Video
Getting released into the wild on December 6th, the Hampton/Winston-Salem box set from Phish covers the bands live shows from their epic fall 1997 tour and they have chosen three shows in particular – two from Hampton Coliseum and one from Winston-Salem, which preceded the two Hampton shows during the tour. Fans can bitch and moan about the best shows of that tour but it’s hard to beat this material.
In standard Phish fashion, they are whetting the whistle of their fan base with free downloads and video clips. Such as the clip below of the “Halley’s Comet” from the second night of Hampton. This was the second set opener and it extends past twenty minutes, a feet that’s rarely seen these days by any song let alone Halley’s. This past summer the kids got all giddy when they jammed out this classic tune for the first time since returning to the stage at Bethel, NY but even that was no where near this monster.

Our crew is looking forward to some more live Phish as we help ring in the New Year down at Madison Square Garden. First time I’ll be doing a Phish NYE since their Millennium show down in the Florida Everglades where they played from midnight until sunrise. Still one of the best musical experiences of my life to date.
Dopestyle 1231 – “I’m Grendel” is a perfect filler for Halloween
The beats from this album are perfect for those Halloween mixes and thanks to our friends over at Waxploitation, they’ve got all of the instrumentals available over at SoundCloud for streaming and downloading.
Washed Out chills out “Far Away” in a Yourstru.ly shoot
The music of Washed Out is already chill in and of itself (I mean, the cool kids don’t call it chillwave for nothing). But here, Ernest Greene goes deep into the heart of “rock and soul”, a term coined by the late Hall & Oats. And what would be such a sound without the soothing melody of a saxophone.

If you’re just getting hip to Washed Out’s music, you should check out their latest release, Within and Without. The album cover alone is worth the purchase.
Live Video: Fleet Foxes at Orpheum Theatre – “Bedouin Dress”
Sounds pretty choppy but turn the volume down and you’ll get the gist of their choral powers. Fleet Foxes blew up the Orpheum Theatre in Boston last night and this video should hopefully prove that in some way shape or form. Just listen to my buddy at the 2 minute mark getting all nuts.
The crowd was definitely in rare form. The band even appeared a bit overwhelmed by the response they got. Definitely worth sacrificing a productive Wednesday at work.
